Haliburton has experienced a 77% increase in cheap cottage prices over the last year. But, the median price remains at about $510,000 (for a non-waterfront property). Investors can have waterfront properties for about $749,000. Haliburton sits in an area north of Algonquin Park. It’s roughly 2.5 hours from Toronto and under 2 hours from Oshawa. There are over 27 lakes in the area, so finding a lakefront property is much easier than around areas with fewer lakes. These cottages are ideal for someone who lives in Ottawa, Kingston, or other areas in the East of Ontario.
Cheap Cottage in Georgian Bay
Georgian Bay is about 2.5 hours away from Toronto and has many cheap cottages. The area is rather well known – with the main anchor city of Owen Sound acting as a hub for areas around it. Tobermory, Sauble Beach, Meaford, and between all generally have waterfront cottage properties. The prices range depending on the area, but you can find a cheap cottage. While many of these cottages sit on the larger waters of both Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, there are also many smaller lakes as well.
