As the weather starts to warm up in Toronto, you may be looking for a way to enjoy the spring (almost summer) air. What better way than to take a walk around the city? Generally, when people think of gorgeous views, they want to travel outside the city. Fortunately, the city of Toronto has a plethora of breathtaking views right here in the city! The city has everything from old houses to impeccable cafes and shopping locations. Luckily, we’ve rounded up the prettiest streets in Toronto for you to enjoy. Let’s take a look at our list!

1. Queen Street West

Extending from Roncesvalles Avenue to University Avenue, Queen Street West is a great place to enjoy the sunshine and go shopping. Grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant, enjoy some secondhand shopping, or enjoy the city’s atmosphere. If you keep walking along Queen Street West, you’ll end up at Trinity Bellwoods Park, the perfect spot for a picnic in the summer.

2. Brimley Road

Take in some natural beauty at Brimley Road, which leads directly to the Scarborough Bluffs. Have a picnic, walk by the lake at the end of the road, or explore the surrounding Scarborough Bluffs. Scarborough Town Centre Mall is close to Brimley Road, a great place to walk around if the weather changes.

3. Ossington Avenue

Nicknamed one of the ‘coolest streets in the world, take a walk down Ossington Avenue this spring and enjoy the energy of this vibrant area. Featuring nightlife, dining, and shopping, there’s something for everyone in this city area. Some great spots along Ossington Avenue include Bang Bang ice cream shop and bakery, Bellwoods Brewery, and stores like Rotate This for cool vintage vinyl records.

4. Queens Quay

Also known as Toronto’s Harbourfront, this street is a relaxing place to enjoy Lake Ontario. Enjoy walking alongside the lake or stop into the Toronto Music Garden along the way to take in the spring weather. You can also visit the Harbourfront Centre, which hosts fun and informative events for the whole family (any time of year!)

5. The Bridle Path

If you’re looking to drive down one of the prettiest streets in Toronto, look no further than The Bridle Path. This neighbourhood highlights the Don River Valley area, featuring stunning multi-million dollar mansions and spectacular parks. In particular, we recommend visiting Edwards Gardens to enjoy some beautiful plant life. You may spot some Canadian-born celebrity homes, including Celine Dion and Toronto’s own, Drake.

6. Cabbagetown

Walk around Cabbagetown, a neighbourhood in Central Toronto, and enjoy some beautiful, vintage architecture. The colourful homes lining these streets are the perfect backdrop for a spring walk or an Instagram shot. There are also plenty of local businesses and restaurants to explore during your walk.

7. Bay Street

Enjoy Yorkville’s upscale and chic neighbourhood with a walk on Bay Street. As you take in the city atmosphere, step into a local cafe for a bite to eat or an on-the-go coffee. After your stroll, you can step back in time and into the Royal Ontario Museum!

8. The Annex

This neighbourhood is situated between Spadina and Bathurst subway stations. Featuring wide sidewalks, cute shops, and trendy restaurants, this is one area of Toronto you won’t want to miss. You can even explore the side streets and look at some beautiful Victorian homes! The Toronto Historical Board protects many buildings in this area, so you can be guaranteed to see some beautiful architecture in The Annex.

9. Rosedale Valley Road

Leading directly to the Rosedale Valley Trail, Rosedale Valley Road is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto. This area has plenty to do, such as visiting Evergreen Brickworks for fresh produce and scenic views of the Toronto skyline. This neighbourhood and trail also connect easily to Toronto’s east end neighborhood, such as Leslieville and Greektown.

10. Briar Hill Avenue

This is another street filled with beautiful architecture. Mainly a residential neighbourhood, so take a walk or a drive on Briar Hill Avenue to look at some beautiful homes with lovely landscaping upkeep. This area also has many restaurant options with cuisine from all over the world, such as Mexican empanadas and Vietnamese pho.

11. Rathburn Road / Centennial Park Boulevard

Rathburn Road and Centennial Park Boulevard are areas of the city that are perfect to visit at this time of year. These Etobicoke streets are home to beautiful cherry blossom trees that are in full bloom during the springtime. Unlike Trinity Bellwoods and High Park, this is a lesser-known spot to see cherry blossoms in Toronto. The perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle that those parks tend to bring. Boasting 463 trees, this is a great spot to see some beautiful Sakura trees and enjoy the spring weather.
