Each June, Ontarians get together to spread love and show their support for the 2SLGBTQ+ communities. And this year is no exception! Throughout the month, there will be a plethora of events, parades, and gatherings to celebrate diversity and love in all of its forms. Additionally, people around the province will be honouring the tremendous feats made in the past to expand inclusivity and fight for equality for 2SLGBTQ+ people around the world. Expect good food, dancing, awesome crowds, and (mostly) tremendous weather! Here is our list of the top Pride events in Ontario.

1. Toronto Pride Parade — June 30th

This wouldn’t be much of a Pride event list without mentioning the annual Toronto Pride parade! Taking place on June 30th at 2:00 pm, this parade is one of the biggest and most popular Pride parades in all of North America, and for good reason! From 2 pm-7 pm, this year’s parade will include over 100+ groups marching and showing their support for the pride community. From fancy costumes and drag queens to performances and good music, this is the ultimate way to end your pride month!

Similar to previous years, the parade will begin at the corner of Church St N and Bloor St E. You can follow it southbound along Yonge St, turning right on Dundas St. W. From there, the parade will head to Nathan Phillips Square off Bay St, the new ending point! At NPS, you can continue to celebrate for the rest of the night, enjoying the brand-new stage and beer garden, plus many other vendors.

2. Hamilton’s Pride at the Pier — August 10th

If you find yourself unable to make any events in June, don’t fret! Pride Hamilton will be returning to Pier 4 Park on the 10th of August. After being postponed to August last year, they have decided to stick with the same month for this year. One of Hamilton’s biggest pride events will still include all the fun events you have come to expect! This includes vendors, a beer garden, food, games, and activities for everyone. There will be several performances by local 2SLGBTQ+ performers and musicians. So, hop in the car and get to Hamilton this summer!

3. ROM After Dark: Pride June 14th

For this month, ROM After Dark: Pride is celebrating with this unique Pride event in Ontario. It’s a 19+ after-hours-themed event that will allow you to explore the Royal Ontario Museum in a way you never have before! With the theme of Pride in place, the evening of June 30th will feature curated music, visual arts, performance art, distinctive food and drink, and everything else you can ask for in an art-driven night out for adults. On top of this, take part in experiences, such as “What’s the flag?” Hosted by Toronto drag performers, you can explore the meaning and history behind Pride flags from around the world. Take part in the ROM’s virtual pool party, and get your photo taken by photographer Hugh Elliott.

4. Family Pride Toronto June 29th & 30th

This one speaks for itself! Enjoy the weather at this free, family-friendly pride event in Ontario at Church Street School. With food and drinks offered, this festival celebrates the strength and uniqueness of 2SLGBTQ+ parents, caregivers, and children. Experience a day filled with face painting, magic shows, storytelling, food, and much more! Tons of activities will be provided by the Royal Ontario Museum and Sick Kids Hospital.

5. Royal Botanical Gardens After Dark: Pride Edition — June 23rd

The event runs from 6 pm – 10 pm and features performances from local 2SLGBTQ+ artists, drag performers, and entertainers. On top of this, there will be food and drinks, as well as interactive games and activities. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on one of the most exciting pride events of the month.
